Travel, and Travel Often-I'm Now Booking Travel!

Image
Travel, and travel often. I think that's my new motto. Anyone that has known us for a year or even a few months, knows we travel often. We decided a few years ago that life's too short to stay home or to just work all the time.  Even a bad day traveling is better than a good day at work, unless of course your work IS traveling which we are dreaming to one day do full time.  Long story short, I'm now a Cruise Planners travel agent, an associate of Joshua and Karen Edge, Cruise Planners franchise owners.  I was already working on booking a cruise the day after I officially became an agent. (P.S. Thanks to my sister for being my first client!) Although I am working under the host agency called Cruise Planners, I can book more than just cruises, including but not limited to: all-inclusive resorts, international travel, local land travel, Disney and Universal vacations, and so much more!  Now let's back up. As many now, we have the privilege of owning our own automotive r...

Moving from Wordpress to here

Image
This is really just a test post. I'm trying to move all of my posts from my mindingmymatties.com Wordpress blog to here so I can keep them available to you for free. I know there are quite a few people who like to go back and read my birth stories so I want to make sure I still have them out there somewhere.  I'm not sure if everything will transfer. I'm definitely not a pro at this so I'm just going to try to do what I can so I don't lose them. Feel free to subscribe for when I upload new posts, if ever, haha.  Here we go.  Also yes I am moving to blogspot because hosting on Wordpress now costs almost $200 per year. Wowza. As you know, I am a frugal person and I have never made that much through my blog so it is not beneficial to continue there.  This pic is already like 6 months old but it's the newest one I have of us on this computer, ha.

The Birth Story of Kai Kai

Image
My husband inspired me to finally put the birth story of baby #7 into writing. He asked me last week if I had written it yet and when I asked why, he said he always enjoyed reading them. Who knew?! I learn something new every day, haha. Baby toes 😍 Today marks one month since our surprise baby BOY was born. I think I’m still in disbelief that we actually have another boy after 4 girls in a row! We chose to do things a little bit differently this pregnancy. I guess some will say we are a little crazy but I prefer to refer to it as a complete submission and surrendering to God’s will and having the utmost Faith in Him. I think the term some people use is wild pregnancy but in reality, for us, it was the most empowering and least stressful pregnancy. I am very fortunate to have fairly straightforward and uncomplicated pregnancies. This one was no different. I was lucky enough to even visit Switzerland very early on in my pregnancy. And while I do have nausea and some of the ty...

The Untold Story of Bock Bock

Image
No, Bock Bock in this case wasn’t actually the name of a chicken. The kids gave this name to a good friend by the name of Paris Cloud who passed away in January from brain cancer at the young age of 59. His celebration of life was just last week so I decided I better write what we knew of him down before I forget. But really, I don’t think he can be forgotten. Who was Paris, and was that really his name? From what I understand, he got his name from an ancestor of his. He told us of many stories of having relatives who were of Indian descent (Feather not dot). Paris was the son of the legendary Tampa Police Sergeant Richard Lee Cloud, who was assassinated by the mob at the age of 33 because of his relentless pursuit of the drug dealers and criminals of the Florida mob. There is an entire book written about the events surrounding his death and it will blow your mind. Find it HERE : The Last Lonely Eagle! Paris and his brother Paul were just 10 and 8, respectfully, at the time ...

Our Love Story and 10 year anniversary!

Image
Wedding photo creds: Brittany Barb Photography We celebrated our 10 year anniversary at the beginning of this month so I decided to write out our love story. Perfect timing for Valentine’s Day coming up as well. Instagram saw it first. 😉 Our annual anniversary picture where I put on my wedding dress again! Even got the goats in there. Ever heard that song “Check Yes or No” by George Strait? It’s basically our love story and was also our first dance song. We met in 1st grade at our local Catholic school at the same church we attend today, Queen of Angels in Dickinson, Texas. Well actually I was in 1st grade and he was in 2nd but we were in the same classroom since classes were combined. I vividly remember him being the weird one in 2nd grade who was always braiding the ribbons in his missal and I was jealous because I didn’t know how to do that. 🤣 The next year, I skipped part of 2nd and 3rd grade and we ended up officially being in the same grade.  S...
